Angela Rogensues
Founder & Principal Consultant
Angela Rogensues is the founder and principal of Common Road Advisors. She has an extensive background in non-profit management, most notably serving nearly eight years as the Program Director and Executive Director for Playworks Michigan. During her tenure at Playworks, Angela secured significant grants, including two multi-year, multi-region grants from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation totaling $5.6 million, one of which was the largest single grant secured by an executive director in Playworks’ history. She also obtained a $1 million capacity-building investment from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund and expanded the number of school partners by 262% in four years.
Angela's career spans various sectors, including community mental health, substance abuse, corrections education, workforce development, human trafficking, and affordable housing.
She is currently serving her second term on the Warren City Council, where she is the Council President. During her time on council, she sponsored the bill to create the City of Warren Veteran’s Affairs Commission, sponsored the bill for a responsible contracting ordinance, and voted to overturn the previous council’s decision to provide lifetime health insurance for politicians, calling it “political corruption at its worst. She also served four years as a trustee of the General Employee Retirements System, managing nearly $200 million in pension and health trust funds for the City of Warren retirees.
Additionally, she co-chairs the Michigan AFL-CIO Labor Caucus and serves on various boards. She is the past President of the Detroit Institute of Arts Founder's Junior Council and a current DNC member.
Angela’s accolades include recognition as Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Women in Education Leadership, Corp! Magazine Most Valuable Professional, the AFL-CIO’s Local Legislator of the Year, the Warren-Sterling Heights Democratic Club’s Art Miller Elected Official of the Year, and Crain’s Detroit Business 40 Under 40. She is a graduate of Leadership Macomb and has participated in the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Mackinac Policy Conference Future Leaders Program.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts from DePaul University. In addition to her professional and political commitments, she lives in Warren with her partner Dustin, two dogs, and two cats. She is also a proud aunt to two nephews and a niece.
Danielle Ferguson
Executive Assistant & Data Director
Danielle J. Ferguson is a purpose-driven professional with over twenty years of experience in education, counseling, and nonprofit leadership. Known for her deep empathy, quiet determination, and holistic approach to personal and organizational growth, Danielle has dedicated her life to helping people flourish -whether in academic settings, family systems, or broader social causes.
Danielle’s academic path reflects her intellectual curiosity and passion for understanding people and systems. In just five and a half years, she completed three degrees: a Master of Arts in Counseling, a Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Secondary Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in English, with minors in Spanish and Psychology. Her education laid the foundation for a career defined by service, insight, and meaningful connection.
She began her journey as a School Counselor and Middle School Teacher, where she supported students not just through individual and crisis counseling but also by designing systems of emotional and behavioral support that fostered safe and nurturing school environments. Her work included the creation of a Positive Behavior Support Program that was later adopted district-wide. Always guided by a sense of compassion and advocacy, Danielle also served as an ESL Teacher and Coordinator, where she co-developed inclusive K–12 curricula, helped immigrant families navigate cultural transitions, and ensured compliance with federal education standards—all while centering the dignity and needs of each student.
Her passion for individualized learning and human potential led her to homeschool her three daughters through various stages of their education. Each daughter graduated from college early, an outcome that reflects Danielle’s dedication to nurturing both academic excellence and personal growth. As a homeschool educator and consultant, she supported students from diverse backgrounds, helping them discover their strengths and plan meaningful futures. College and career guidance remain among her favorite areas of mentorship.
In the nonprofit realm, Danielle brings vision, integrity, and a natural sense of mission alignment to her work. She has applied her leadership skills to fundraising and campaign strategy in values-based organizations, helping to craft messages that resonate with supporters. Her strategic thinking, intuitive understanding of people, and long-range perspective have helped teams design campaigns that are not only effective but also authentic and impact-driven.
